Aninditaa and Jordon: A Hindu Wedding on Aruba Renaissance Private Flamingo Island, Surrounded by Flamingos

TL;DR

Aninditaa and Jordon got married on August 9, 2025, on the Aruba Renaissance Private Flamingo Island, and had the entire island for their wedding guests at sunset, surrounded by flamingos. Their Hindu ceremony included the traditional prayers, four rounds around the sacred fire, and seven promises, on a full-moon day that was also Raksha Bandhan. An island party under string lights followed.

The Boat Ride to Aruba Renaissance Private Flamingo Island

Our film opens on the crossing: the harbor, the Renaissance resort getting smaller behind the boat, then the island's beach and a boardwalk winding through the mangroves. Arriving at your own wedding by boat is a great way to start a day. Nobody is thinking about anything else.

The First Look and Private Vows on the Boardwalk

Before the ceremony, we slowed down. Jordon wore a navy suit with a red tie and a white boutonniere. Aninditaa wore a red lehenga embroidered in gold, with red and gold bangles that caught the light every time she moved. Along the boardwalk, under the string lights, they had their first look.

What happened next belongs only to them. Aninditaa and Jordon read their vows to each other in private, and they chose not to have the audio recorded. Those words stay between the two of them and aren't in the film. We kept our distance and let them have it. You can see how much it meant in everything that follows: the way she rests a hand on his back while he faces away from her is one of my favorite frames from the whole day.

Why we love a first look (especially in Aruba)

A first look is one of the best decisions a couple can make, and not only because of moments like this one. It's a timeline decision too:

  • Portraits happen while the emotion is real. The tears, the laughs, and the quiet stillness all show up in the portraits, because the biggest moment already happened and the couple is relaxed and fully present.

  • You protect cocktail hour. Without a first look, portraits get squeezed in between the ceremony and the reception, and the couple misses time with their guests. With one, most of that is done before the ceremony.

  • Golden-hour light isn't rushed. With the heavy lifting finished early, there's room to step away at sunset for the soft, glowing portraits Aruba is known for, without losing the party.

  • It's calmer. Two people who've already seen each other and said what they needed to say walk into the ceremony steadier.

Planning your own day? Build the timeline around the moments you want to feel, not just the ones you want to photograph. I'm always happy to help couples map that out.

The Ceremony on Aruba Renaissance Private Flamingo Island

The ceremony took place on the beach under a white canopy dressed in pink and white florals, with white chairs on the sand and the sea behind. It began in late-afternoon light, and by the end the sky had taken on a pink tint.

Their pandit, explained many of the rituals in English as they happened. A few moments stayed with me:

  • The knot. Early on, he tied a knot joining a piece of Aninditaa's attire to a drape on Jordon, and described it as a bond meant to last beyond this life, through the next seven.

  • The prayers. Four prayers: the first for protection, then gratitude (including thanks to their parents), peace and harmony, and patience.

  • The fire. Offerings to the fire, then four rounds around it, followed by applause.

  • The seven promises. The pandit explained each one in English, and the couple answered "yes." The themes: health, support, prosperity, respect, family, lifelong companionship, and eternal union.

  • The finish. Flower garlands, then the rings, then the pandit declared them husband and wife and said, "you may kiss the bride."

Hindu ceremonies vary by family and region, and you'll often see rounds around the sacred fire and a set of spoken vows as separate moments. Aninditaa and Jordon's ceremony included both.

A Full-Moon Day and Raksha Bandhan

Pandit Ravi pointed out that August 9 was a full-moon day and also Raksha Bandhan, and that the two falling on the same date made it a special day to take a sacred oath here in Aruba. You can't plan a detail like that into a wedding. You just get to be there when it happens.

Reception: An Island Party Under the Stars

When the sun went down, the island turned into a party. String lights wrapped around the palm trunks, the dance floor lit up in color, and the guests didn't stop clapping and dancing. Aninditaa and Jordon took the microphone to thank everyone who traveled to be there.

Their highlight film runs about 3.5 minutes: the boat ride, the boardwalk, the vows, and the dance floor, closing on a signature card. They also received a 57-minute full ceremony cut, so they can relive every prayer and promise. Curious what coverage like this costs? See our full Aruba wedding videographer pricing breakdown.
